What is this?
Taiwanese households have long consulted an almanac before choosing a date for a wedding, a move, or the opening of a shop. It lists the lunar date, the twenty-four solar terms, and for each day a list of matters the tradition considers suitable (yi) or unsuitable (ji). The terms have no settled English names, so they are kept in Chinese with a short note.
