The divine farmer who taught people to grow grain and tasted a hundred herbs to treat illness. This statue came from Fujian with the first ancestors.

Shennong, the Emperor of the Five Grains, is one of the three legendary sovereigns. He is said to have taught people to farm and to have tasted a hundred herbs, finding both medicines and poisons, which is why farmers, herbalists and physicians honour him.

The statue here came from Fujian with the first ancestors of the Lee family and is one of the original statues that crossed the sea.
