Ten deities are enshrined here. Feast days follow the lunar calendar, so the date in the Gregorian calendar changes each year.
Marshal of the Central Altar
中壇元帥 · Prince Nezha
The temple's principal deity, brought from the Lee family shrine in Fujian in the late Ming dynasty. All the Nezha statues here represent the Third Prince, Li Nezha.
Earth God
福德正神 · Tudi Gong
Guardian of the land, honoured for bringing prosperity to the neighbourhood.
Three Royal Lords
三府王爺 · Sanfu Wangye
Emperor of the Five Grains
五穀先帝 · Shennong
The divine farmer who taught people to grow grain and tasted a hundred herbs to treat illness. This statue came from Fujian with the first ancestors.
Guanyin
觀音佛祖 · Bodhisattva of Compassion
"She who perceives the sounds of the world", one of the four great bodhisattvas.
Mazu
天上聖母 · Heavenly Holy Mother
Born Lin Mo-niang in Fujian in the Song dynasty; protector of seafarers.
Goddess of Childbirth
註生娘娘 · Zhusheng Niangniang
Prayed to for children and for the safety of mother and child.
God of Literature
文昌帝君 · Wenchang Dijun
Prayed to by students before examinations.
Lao Li Wang Gong
老李王公
A deity of the Lee family shrine, brought from Fujian together with Prince Nezha. Not one of the Five Royal Lords.
Tiger General
虎爺公 · Huye
The tiger tamed by the Earth God, enshrined below the altar table.
