Marshal of the Central Altar

The temple's principal deity, brought from the Lee family shrine in Fujian in the late Ming dynasty. All the Nezha statues here represent the Third Prince, Li Nezha.

The Marshal of the Central Altar, commonly called Prince Nezha, commands the central camp among the five celestial camps. In folk belief he was sent down to be born as Li Nezha, third son of the general Li Jing, to subdue demons on earth.

All six statues here represent the same deity, the Third Prince Li Nezha; the names Da Taizi (the founding elder), Er Taizi, San Taizi and their deputies simply record the order in which the statues were carved.

The Nezha of Sanfeng Temple and Guangji Temple in Kaohsiung were both received from this temple, and both return each year around the feast day to pay respects.
